HOW DO I GET MOTIVATED FOR MY EXAMINATION

So many students often lost their drive to read effectively when an examination is coming close and they tend to ask the question, “How do I get motivated for my examination?” If you are among such students, we are about to help you with tips to get really motivated for your examination.

Before you tackle or solve any problem, it is very important that the cause of the problem is known.

Students get often dispirited when an examination is coming close for a lot of reasons but lets quickly look at a few reasons:

  • Students see little value in the course or its content they are about writing an exam for.

  • Students do not believe that their efforts will improve their performance in the examination

  • Students are demotivated by the rumour being circulated about the examination being too difficult.

  • Students have other priorities that compete for their time and attention.

  • Procrastination.
  • Individual students may suffer from physical, mental, emotional or other personal problems that affect motivation.

Now that the reason why many students lose motivation has been established, let’s talk about possible things you can do to improve your zeal for that examination.

1) ANYTHING THAT IS WORTH DOING IS WHAT DOING WELL.

You may not feel the importance of doing this examination or the reason why you should prepare very well for this examination, but always remember that what so ever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well.

I don’t know the importance you placed for this examination but provided you are the one sitting for this examination, then you have to be prepared and do the best you can.

Always remember, anything you do represent you.

If you don’t prepare well for this examination, when the result is out, it will always be your name that is attached to the grade.

When you don’t feel the need or see the importance or value of the contents of the subject or course you want to take an examination for, just remember that if you just give it a little push and preparation, you can just make a good grade once and for all as anything worth doing is worth doing well.

2) YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

There is this saying that Rome wasn’t built in a day. It is very true to know that there are some things that you have to take one step at a time.

Maybe you are that student that when you look at the materials or books you have to finish few days to the exam, it just frustrates you and you resolve that “No matter how I study, my grade won’t change.

Honestly speaking, if you find yourself in such a situation, just know that you don’t have to finish the whole material or books at that time. You have to focus on what really matters. Get past questions and start your study from there.

Getting frustrated is never an option you should ever consider when preparing for an examination.

Maybe yours is that the lecturer or teacher taking the course always marks in a funny way that makes you feel that no matter what you write, your grade won’t be different. Well, don’t let the lecturer dictates your preparation for the examination because actually, you can just make the difference.

Always give in your best because that examination represents you.

3) DON’T ENTERTAIN NEGATIVE REMARKS THAT DEMORALIZES YOUR PREPARATION FOR THE EXAMINATION

To some persons everything is hard. They never have a good remark for anything at all.

When you have an examination to write, what you have to do is to prepare for that examination the best way possible. You can check here for tips on how to prepare for any examination effectively.

It doesn’t matter what negative remark people give to a course or an examination, just prepare the right way and you will do excellently well.

Don’t allow the negative remark some persons give towards an examination determines your zeal to prepare. Always think of the reason why you have to pass the course and if possible, think of your parents or sponsors, and if you sponsor yourself, think of yourself!

Just don’t quit preparing for that examination.

4) WHEN STUDENTS ARE DISTRACTED BY OTHER FACTORS

There are several reasons why a student can be distracted for an examination.

If you are a student that works, you can still prepare for this examination with all zeal and do well if only you know how to prioritize things. If the examination means as much to you, then make use of some of your sleep time, if your sleep time is not available, then take a break from work. You just have to do something that will make you prepare well.

On the other hand, it could be that its social networks that are distracting you. Well, you can set an alarm time to chat or do your social media things and learn to keep to it. Furthermore, you can create a study environment and whenever you want to study, you can turn off your devices and or keep them far away.

What you really need here is determination.

5) PROCRASTINATION

This is a great killer of time and purpose. This can be dealt with by discipline. You can click here to read about how discipline affects your examination preparation.

Avoid procrastination. If perhaps you are used to telling people what you want to do but ends up not always doing it, maybe you should just stop telling people.

Do more of acting than talking.

6) HAVING PERSONAL CHALLENGE

Often times, we go through different challenges that affect our motivation.

But it’s our duty to pick ourselves together and be motivated.

There is no excuse for failure. If the examination will not consider what we are going through to give us grades without sitting for the examination, then we have got no excuse not to prepare and just be excellent.

Always push yourself for greatness because no one will actually.
