Some years ago, nursing as a profession was seen as a female profession but now, there are a lot of males who have taken up nursing as a profession and they are doing pretty well in it.

Before you can gain admission into a nursing school, it is required that you have finished your secondary school education and that you were able to pass at least 5 subjects at credit level in your WAEC or NECO at not more than 2 sittings and you are at least, 18 years of age.

The subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Health Science.

Nursing schools are just like post-secondary school institutions in Nigeria where individuals who have the desire to become a nurse could go for training.

On graduating from a nursing school, you would become a qualified nurse and would be able to work in any institution of your choice.

It takes about 3 years to finish the School of Nursing and become a certified Nurse in Nigeria. Of which, you can decide to further your education in nursing by taking direct entry form to any university of your choice so you can become a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
